About Being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)
HSP’s are 15-20% of the population so it’s a rare personality trait most people are not even aware of. Many people who have these traits walk through life feeling very misunderstood and trying to fit into a world that often doesn’t understand them.
They often experience a constant sensory overload from the world around them. As a result of this overload, HSP’s find themselves living in a state of overwhelm which leads to burnout. Burnout is emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion.
Modern life is fast paced and the demands on our time can leave us overwhelmed, especially for people who have HSP traits. That is why it is so important for you to regularly take time to nourish your spirit and keep that energy bank topped up.
How would you know if you are a HSP?
Always told you are too sensitive
Feeling like you just don't fit in
Always prioritising other people’s needs before your own
Good at sensing other people’s discomfort
Sensitive to noise
Often needing to retreat and spend time alone

I can help you to overcome the continuous burnout and overwhelm you can experience as a Highly Sensitive Person.
I worked in the Metropolitan Police Service for over 11 years, before leaving to pursue my love of helping people and my passion for coaching.
I felt misunderstood for so many years, I was always told I was too sensitive and that I took everything too personally ‘lighten up’ people always used to tell me.
As I grew into adult life, I found that I need longer to process things and to others, that made me ‘slow’. I saw and experienced the world differently to most of my friends.
I thought I was like everyone else and in many ways I was. However deep down, I was really denying the true person I was. What I now know, is that different doesn’t mean bad.
This is why I created In My Skin Coaching, a service for sensitive individuals to come that feels like home. Where we can lean in and celebrate those things that make us unique.
I am highly sensitive and intuitive by nature, as well as deeply empathetic. These are qualities I have grown to love and value because they help me to connect with the people in my world on a deeper level.
Being a HSP myself, I wish I’d had the opportunity sooner to find a coach to work with that really understands the complexity of this personality trait, and didn't label it as an excuse.
HSP’s experience the world in a very intense way, which is different to your average Joe!
One thing that I have realised in the last decade, is that life is way too short to keep doing things you hate! We should be doing more of the things we love. If you don’t know what your passions are, then you owe it your soul to find out.
Things happen in life that can turn our world upside down, if we let them. Having the right support, encouragement and self-determination to overcome the challenges, makes a huge difference to where you end up. You have the power to make your reality whatever you want it to be.
I believe each and every one of us has something special to offer this world. We all have a legacy to leave.
